Pelajaran 89 : Stative Passive

Stative passive adalah penggunaan Verb (kata kerja ) bentuk ke-3 atau Past Participle yang berperilaku seperti Adjective (kata sifat).
Be (am, is, are) bisa diikuti oleh kata sifat yang menerangkan tetang status subyek :
Contoh :

• Herman is clever
• Winny is beautiful 
• I am thirsty 
• We are brave 

Pada contoh di atas, clever, beautiful, thirsty, brave adalah kata sifat.
 
Dalam stative passive, kata kerja bentuk ke 3 seperti prepared, broken, closed, bisa bertindak seperti kata sifat bila digabungkan dengan be + V3 + prepostion (to, about, for, by, etc).
Contoh :

• The  island is located in Indonesian archipelago
• He is worried about the exam
• Kim is married to Ding
• John will be prepared for the game
• The strore will be closed at 9.pm

Jadi pembentukan stative passive / penggunaan past participle sebagai kata sifat dibentuk dari :

BE + V3 (Past participle) + Preposition 

Hal ini berbeda dengan passive voice, jadi dalam mempelajari hal ini jangan sampai dibingungkan dengan passive voice .

The island is located in pada contoh di atas, memberi keterangan bahwa The island (subyek) terletak di kepulauan Indonesia. Bukan The island diletakkan di kepulauan Indonesia.

Be broken	Be finished (with)	Be prepared (for)

Be devoted (to)	Be interested (in)	Be scared (of, by)
Be disappointed (in, with)	Be involved (in)	Be shut
Be divorced (from)	Be located in, noth of, etc	Be spoiled
Be done (with)	Be lost	Be terrified (of, by)
Be drunk (on)	Be made of	Be tired (of, from)
Be engaged (to)	Be married to	Be worried (about)

Be = am-is-are
